The VCM-01 Series Intelligent Control Valve, manufactured by Metroval, is a motorized control valve developed for the precise control of microflows in chemical dosing applications. Combining a high-pressure needle valve with a microprocessed electric actuator with stepper motor and integrated encoder, it provides extremely precise positioning of the control rod, ensuring high stability and repeatability in flow regulation.
Designed for applications in harsh industrial environments, the VCM-01 eliminates the need for compressed air infrastructure, simplifying installation and reducing operating and maintenance costs. Available for working pressures up to API 10K (10,000 psi / 690 bar) and compatible with industrial protocols such as 4-20 mA, 4-20mA+HART and Modbus RTU, it easily integrates into automation systems, being especially suitable for chemical injection systems in platforms, FPSOs, refineries and industrial plants.
Designed to replace conventional small Cv pneumatic valves, which have resolution and hysteresis limitations, the VCM-01 combines a high-precision needle valve with a microprocessor electronic actuator equipped with stepper motor and absolute encoder, providing precise control of the stem position and high resolution of the flow coefficient (Cv) adjustment. This architecture allows stable control of microflows, reducing flow oscillations and increasing process repeatability.
The equipment can be supplied in 316/316L stainless steel, Duplex, Super Duplex and special alloys, withstanding working pressures of 6,000 psi (414 bar) or up to API 10K (10,000 psi / 690 bar). The actuator has an IP66W degree of protection, Ex compliance certification for hazardous areas and 4-20 mA, 4-20mA+HART and Modbus RTU (RS-485) communication interfaces, allowing direct integration into industrial automation systems.
Available in a version for applications meeting H₂S corrosion resistance requirements in severe oil and gas environments (Sour Service), in accordance with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-1.
