The KOSO VECTOR™ Compressor Recirculation Valve (Anti-Surge) was developed to protect centrifugal compressors from the occurrence of surge, one of the most critical and destructive conditions for rotating equipment. Combining the exclusive VECTOR™ speed control technology with a very high response pneumatic actuation system, the valve ensures extremely fast opening and precise control of recirculation, preserving the integrity of the compressor and ensuring the operational continuity of the process.
Designed for severe applications, the solution offers high controllability during modulation and exceptional performance in emergencies. Its actuation system can perform full strokes in less than a second, while TRIM VECTOR™ controls the dissipation of fluid energy, reducing noise, vibration and wear of internal components. The result is a highly reliable solution for compressor protection systems used in the oil and gas, petrochemical, gas processing, and power generation industries.
The KOSO VECTOR™ Anti-Surge Valve is designed specifically for centrifugal compressor protection systems, where high control capacity, fast dynamic response and reliability are key requirements. Its high-performance pneumatic actuation system allows opening times of less than one second, allowing the valve to respond immediately to the approaching conditions of the surge line, preserving the operational stability of the compressor.
Internally, the valve utilizes patented VECTOR™ technology, based on a labyrinthine multi-stage TRIM that progressively controls the dissipation of fluid energy. This architecture significantly reduces flow velocity, minimizing cavitation, flashing, vibration, and noise, as well as increasing the life of internal components. TRIM can be configured to offer high flow capacity during protection events, maintaining excellent control stability at low openings, an essential condition for the efficient operation of Anti-Surge systems. The valve can also be supplied with a metal seat or resilient, meeting ANSI/FCI 70-2 Class V or Class VI tightness requirements.
